Jaylon Brown

Jaylon Brown, 6'0" PG Fishers HS (IN), was offered by Illinois State today. He also has offers from American, Toledo, Miami (OH), and Ohio. Illinois State has not been involved with Brown long, but new Illinois State assistant coach Dana Ford was actively recruiting Brown while he was at Wichita State.

Brown is an explosive guard that has drawn comparisons to Russell Westbrook with his play. Rivals has him in their top 150 for the nation. Indiana Basketball Source has Brown ranked as the 11th best college prospect in the 2013 class.

Hot Rumor: Nic Moore Transferring

The big rumor today is that Illinois State freshman Nic Moore is looking to transfer after head coach Tim Jankovich left the program to go to SMU. This is just a rumor at this point and nothing has been announced. If true, many programs would be interested in Moore's services.

Moore averaged 10 points and 4 assists per game as a freshmen in the Missouri Valley. Big programs recruited Moore out of Warsaw High School in Indiana, but Northwestern was the only big-six conference school to offer Moore. He was also offered by Missouri Valley Conference foe Evansville before picking Illinois State.

2012 Commitments

Wichita State brings in a powerful class headlined by Nick Wiggins. Wiggins is a 6-6 wing that is a junior college transfer from Wabash Valley. Wiggins is a native of Canada and is the older brother to Andrew Wiggins, who is Rivals.com's number 1 player in the nation for the 2014 class.

They are also bringing in Deontae Hawkins from Dunbar High School out of Ohio. Here is what we had to say about Hawkins on Indiana Basketball Source in May of 2011.

"Deontae Hawkins 6’7 PF Dunbar (OH) Hawkins is a very good athlete with a face-up game to go along with the athleticism from what I saw from him." 

Southern Illinois is currently without a commitment in the class after they fired Chris Lowry. Antonio "Bobo" Drummond and Travis Wilkins asked and received their release after the firing.
